Well, it's official, Pookie is one twisted little girl...of course, since her favorite television show at four years old is "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and she drags my DVDs out to watch it all the time, I really should not be surprised. *sigh*
I took Pookie to see EE this weekend. I had read the book, it was a cute little story. Minimal meaness and blood shed in it (mostly just threats of blood shed). So, we go. Movie was cute. I enjoyed it, she got a little bored. She couldn't understand how anyone could just obey all the time (yeah, like I didn't already know she had a problem with obedience). She wasn't too fond of the prince, I don't know why. She kind of snorted whenever Ella smiled at him. Then, when the wedding starts at the end, she starts bawling her eyes out! Everyone was looking at her kind of strangely, including me! After the movie, as we were leaving (and I was carrying her because she was still crying), I asked her why she was so upset. She said the movie had made her sad! I said, "But Ella and the Prince got married and lived happily every after! How can that make you sad?" She wailed, "I wanted her to kill him!" My mouth dropped to my knees, as did those mouths of the few people still around us. It was amazing to see this four-year-old wanting a non-happy ending to a fairy tale. However, we have discovered what might be the cause of this one. Part of it is because of Buffy killing Angel in BtVS. They love each other, she kills him. Then, when she told the little boy at daycare that she wanted to marry him, he said "I'd rather be dead." So...she associates love and marriage with death! *sigh* This is gonna cost me years of therapy, isn't it?
So, other than the movies, I took Pookie to dance class and pretty much sat around on Saturday. Sunday, we went and saw my friend Doc and had a great time! It was so nice seeing her again. However, as the day wound on, Pookie got tired and cranky and threw a fit in the middle of the mall. So, I decided it was time to go home. Well, as we are packing up, I realize that Tubby is missing!! Tubby is Boo's favorite stuffed toy; he is a turquoise and pink hippo her daddy bought the day she was born. So, Doc and I split up and go in search of Tubby. After searching a few places, asking at the info desk, asking security (and gettign lots of "are you nuts" and sympathetic looks), we swung by the Disney Store and asked a lady there if she'd seen a stuffed hippo. "Yes!!! I did. I picked him up and put him right over....OH NO!!!!!!!!!!" Tubby was gone! All that was left was a non-dust spot! So, we ran back to the meeting place to see if Doc had been the one to pick up Tubby. Luckily, she had!!! That had been the first place she'd gone and saw him sitting there and just grabbed him and walked away! *laugh* I knew we probably shouldn't have split up!
Watched a couple of movies this weekend. On Friday, I stayed up late and watched "Get Over It!" It was a really cute movie! Of course, I love Kirsten Dunst and Ben Foster, so I really couldn't go too wrong with it! It's not your typical teen movie...it's predicatable, but it's sweet. I also watched (on CBS) the Hallmark hall of Fame movie "Plainsongs". It was a sweet movie and I found myself giggling a little and actually shouting at the television a couple of times. I also found myself sobbing at every commercial break...I really gotta stop watching hallmark commercials. :P
I watched Nashville Star on Saturday and I'm happy to say that Brad Cotter is in the final three! He's in some good company with George Canyon and Matt Lindahl. At some point, I need to buy all their CDs. I will be buying Brad's with my next paycheck. Right now, I'm completely broke. I gotta stop buying graphics for awhile...it's killin' me! *laugh*
That's about it for now. I'm ready for a nap! Hopefully I will be getting a doctor's appointment next week.
